Shannon Louise Shaw, 51 of Toronto died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2019 at Kensington Hospice after a short but brave battle with cancer. She is survived by her loving daughter Agatha Grant and her sisters, twins, Shelly Mae and Sherry Irene Shaw as well as her beloved dog, Lucy.
Shannon was born and grew up in Windsor, Ont., and is a graduate of Walkerville High School. She moved to Toronto in 2001 and was a very talented cake decorator at Sobeys. She had many friends at work and was a fierce ‘Mama Bear,’ especially for younger employees. She was known for her signature greeting, “Hey cutie!” Shannon also had many friends in the LGTBQ community and shared an unwavering commitment to equality and human rights. She enjoyed painting and also wrote poetry. She is remembered for her great sense of humour, tenacity, grace and love for her daughter.
Shannon’s family is planning a celebration of life in November in Toronto. All are welcome.
